A nailed-on modern classic, and getting hard to find in good, unmolested shape these days. Specification wise it’s standard late small bumper mk2 GTi 8v, so it has manual sunroof, wind up windows, and trip computer. Apart from a more modern stereo, a front strut brace, and slightly later wheels (we have the originals (with tyres) that will come with it, it seems to be to completely original specification, which is a rarity in itself these days. Odometer reading 137000 miles. History wise, we have the original book pack and service book, with 19 stamps in it, old MOT’s back to 1995, and a very large sheaf of bills. In January 2025, at 135143 miles, it was treated to a full service, new clutch, new cambelt, new rear discs and pads, new rear wheel bearings, and new exhaust rubbers. Currently MOT’d to October 2025 so we’ll provide a new MOT on sale, and 6 months warranty. On test it performed without fault, which is a testament to both VW’s build quality and the care of previous owners. Most of these, if not restored, feel baggy, rattly, and blunt. Not this one.
