FOR SALE JF CLASSIC CARS offer what could quite easily be described as a 'one-off' 1999 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE in Rioja Red with just 8136 miles from new and having only one former keeper-SIMPLY WOW DESCRIPTION A true flagship of its era, the P38 Range Rover 4.6 HSE combined luxury, off-road ability, and refined V8 performance in a way few others could. This 1999 example is finished in striking Rioja Red and has covered an astonishingly low 8,136 miles from new, making it one of the finest surviving examples of the model. Fitted with the silky 4.6-litre V8 petrol engine, this Range Rover offers effortless performance and timeless British elegance in a highly original and unrestored package EXTERNAL This example presents with the unmistakable square front end design that defined the second-generation Range Rover. Finished in factory-correct Rioja Red (Paint Code 601), the paintwork boasts a deep, glossy finish with a vibrant metallic shine across every panel. All body panels align with pin-sharp fitment, showcasing the vehicle's untouched and carefully preserved condition. To the front, the legendary black slatted grille remains unmarked, retaining its deep shine and iconic presence. The original 'Valeo' headlamps are both chip and fog free, with matching lower fog lights housed cleanly within the front bumper lower recesses all lenses remain crystal clear. The black wraparound front bumper is free from scuffs or damage, a true testament to the vehicle’s careful use and storage. Black side steps are fitted and in the very best of condition, showing no corrosion or wear. Both front and rear factory-fit mud flaps are present and intact. The side scuff protectors running down each flank retain their rich, deep black tone, free from fading, tarnish, or unsightly marks. The vehicle retains its original glazing throughout, including the windscreen, side glass, and rear screen, all etched correctly and free from delamination or scratches. The electrically operated and heated door mirrors remain scuff free, and the fuel cap still carries the original factory warning and informational labels. To the rear, everything remains as clean and tidy as the day it left the dealership, including a split tailgate that operates faultlessly. The badging to both the front and tailgate remains crisp, correct, and factory original, even down to the original dealer number plates and rear window sticker. A factory-fit towbar is also installed, and appears virtually unused, adding to the car's exceptional and complete presentation INTERIOR Luxury greets you the moment any door is opened, with the cabin presenting in time-warp condition. The seats are finished in Lightstone leather with elegant black piping to both front and rear, with the bolsters sitting proud and free from sagging or wear. The electrically operated heated front seats function without fault and are complemented by unmarked fold-down armrests. The rear seats show virtually no signs of use their presentation is showroom-fresh. All four Lightstone leather door cards are unmarked, each featuring a slim walnut veneer inlay that adds a refined touch to the already luxurious interior. The deep pile Lightstone carpets remain completely unmarked, having been protected from new by factory overmats. Above, the headlining sits tight and unblemished, exactly as it did when it left Solihull. The electrically operated sunshine roof opens and closes smoothly and without fault. The two-tone dashboard, finished in black and Lightstone, presents in untouched condition, with no discolouration. On the passenger side sits the airbag above a drop-down glovebox, while a rich band of walnut veneer runs across the full width of the dashboard, sheer luxury at eye level. Centrally, twin air vents sit high on the dash above a bank of push-button controls including ride height adjustment, front and rear fog lamps, and the hazard warning switch. Just below is the analogue Land Rover time clock, flanked by the optional factory colour screen for the satellite navigation system a rare upgrade at the time. Further down, the veneer-trimmed ashtray remains unused, as does the push-button lighter. The digital dual-zone climate control panel is fully operational, offering tailored control over fan speed, temperature, and airflow direction. Heated seat buttons are positioned clearly on either side. The centre console, finished in polished walnut veneer, houses the sat nav remote controller, electric window switches, and controls for the electrically adjustable mirrors. The automatic gear lever, also set into a wood-trimmed base, shows no signs of wear. To the rear of the console is a built-in stowage tray for drink containers, another example of thoughtful, high-spec 1990s engineering. Directly in front of the driver sits the signature half-moon instrument binnacle, housing a fuel gauge to the left, a tachometer and speedometer to the centre which proudly displays just 8,136 miles and a temperature gauge to the right. All obligatory warning lights illuminate and extinguish as per factory spec. The four-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, trimmed with matching walnut veneer, is completely unmarked and offers audio and cruise control functionality the perfect finishing touch to what is a truly special, time-capsule interior ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Nestled beneath the bonnet is the renowned 4.6-litre Rover V8 petrol engine, a powerplant celebrated for its effortless delivery and velvety smooth character. With just 8136 miles from new, this example remains barely run in, and performs with the silky refinement only found in the very best, low-mileage examples. Starting promptly on the first turn of the key, the V8 settles into a near-silent idle free from hesitation, harshness or vibration. Power is delivered in a progressive and composed manner, with ample torque on offer at low revs for smooth, luxurious driving. The engine bay itself is immaculate and factory correct, with all original manufacturer informational labels still in place and intact, including emissions, belt routing, and fluid specification decals an exceptional detail seldom seen today. Paired with the tried-and-tested ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox, changes are seamless and intuitive, gliding from gear to gear without any abruptness. Together, the powertrain delivers a genuinely graceful driving experience exactly as Land Rover intended. Simply put, this is a time-warp drivetrain, and driving it is an absolute delight offering the feel, sound and performance of a brand-new Range Rover, over two decades after it was delivered new WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES This exceptional example sits on its factory-correct 5-stud 18-inch silver alloy wheels, each one remaining in unmarked, showroom-fresh condition free from kerb marks, corrosion or blemishes.
