1966 Mk1 Cortina 1500GT for sale. 2 door Mk1 genuine GT, export LHD model. Export GT's had the Silver body trim, same as the "Super" models. Built new at Dagenham in 66, exported abroad when new, sold by a Ford Agent in Spain, then re-imported back to England in 1971. Car was used daily up until 1978 then stored. The car was then restored and completed in 2018 by the owner whom I purchased it from. The car has all original paperwork, including stacks of original MoT's dating back to 1971. It has a folder full of pictures with the restoration photos etc. Really well documented car. Interior is fantastic. Original steering wheel, console, shifter, clocks etc, it needs the radio fitting to complete. Speaker holes in door cards. It is completely stock underneath (exception of aftermarket SPAX shocks) and engine wise it has it's original 1500 Pre-crossflow with the all the correct GT parts (4 branch manifold, twin choke weber, remote brake servo etc, air cleaner etc). GT steels and hubcaps in great condition, remote shifter console (recent rebuild to stop known vibration at 60+mph) original GT gauges etc. Please see pictures - this car is great, no rot, really nice usable classic. The paint is nice, but in my opinion wants flatting and polishing to make really good. Underneath is all painted, White body colour. Nice underneath, all axles etc painted. Car drives great. I use it only in the dry, gearbox is great. Engine goes well with the iconic noises of the twin choke carb etc. Drive this thing anywhere, idles great, no overheating issues etc. Lowered springs on the front from Burtons (custom ordered for a MK1 GT as they are different) 1 and 1/2 inch drop approx.
