The new Series I XJ6-based Sovereign was introduced in October 1969 and was externally virtually identical to its Jaguar sibling with the exception of the fluted grille and Daimler badging This 1971 Series I presents well in Warwick Grey with chrome wire wheels and Speedwell mirrors over a Beige Connolly hide interior with a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed wheel Supplied by George Kidd Motors in Leamington Spa to a Mr S.T Sherwood on 01/01/1972, the original service book shows its first service at 3,525 miles in the September of that year The history file shows evidence of a full body respray, a receipt for over £2,000 is visible merely for trim pieces and parts and there is a £2,800 invoice for headlining and door card retrimming Also in the file there is evidence of an engine strip down and rebuild in July 2021, multiple historic MOT Certificates and tax discs These Series I cars are rare and this represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a well cared for example, sensibly estimated and offered without reserve
