The Alfa Romeo Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The final Alfa Romeo Spider - and the last rear wheel drive vehicle produced before the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione debuted in May 2012- was produced in April 1993. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961; however, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch Spiders only began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line at the end of 1965. The 1300 and 2000 cars were modified in 1974 and 1975 respectively to include two small seats behind the front seats, becoming a 2+2.

A nice, pretty, example of this classic Italian sports car, presented in red with black interior. Having arrived in the UK from South Africa in 2004 a previous owner embarked on an extensive refurbishment, this included a full respray but more recently the seats recovered, replaced hood, boot seals, heater refurbished, wipers, recent new tyres, retro modern USB Bluetooth radio. The car comes with an extensive selection of invoices for various parts from Classic Alfa and maintenance and work over the years from various including Richard Thorne in Berkshire. The bodywork and interior are well above average for a car of this age and presents very well. This flat-tail Alfa is very striking indeed and remains in its original left hand drive form, many believe this is a benefit over a converted to right hand drive example. It is also ULEZ compliant.
